Masthead Venture Partners Promotes David Beisel to Principal
Cambridge, MA - April 10, 2006 - Masthead Venture Partners, a venture capital firm specializing in early-stage technology companies, announced that it has promoted David Beisel to the position of Principal. As Principal, David will continue to identify and evaluate investment opportunities in close collaboration with the partners.
"We are grateful for David's contribution to the Masthead team. Since joining Masthead in 2004 as an Associate, David has been instrumental in several key investments. In particular, David has worked on the initial funding of and is actively involved with both NewsGator and Intercasting, as well as the recent follow-on investment in Tacoda," said Brady Bohrmann, General Partner at Masthead Venture Partners.

He also founded and organizes the Web Innovators Group (http://webinnovatorsgroup.com/), nicknamed "WebInno," which is comprised of people engaged in Internet and mobile innovation in the Boston area. WebInno supports entrepreneurs, visionaries, and creative thinkers in the field by holding events which foster community interaction.
Prior to joining Masthead, David co-founded Sombasa Media, an e-mail marketing company which was successfully acquired and subsequently became the About Direct division of Primedia (NYSE: PRM). As Vice President of Marketing at Primedia, David led the marketing group responsible for the company's e-mail newsletter product suite, managed the division's customer relationship operations, and coordinated related business development activities. In addition, he has worked as a management consultant at The Parthenon Group and in product management at Adobe Systems. David holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and an AB in Economics, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Duke University.
